We arrived in a coastal town  
where they keep a wrong count of the days  
and the years.

The soldier

The tragedy
is not to be killed by the enemy.
The tragedy
is to die at the hands of the misguided,
stunned,
on this side.

In the tense dream  
the night before the battle
we saw each other  
at times,
only in the blue light of lightning.

Un pueblo zombi

Llegamos a una ciudad costera  
en donde llevan errada la cuenta de los días  
y los años.

El soldado

Lo trágico
no es que te mate el enemigo.
Lo trágico  
es morir en manos de los desorientados,
aturdidos,
de este lado.

El fogón terminó apagándose

En el tenso sueño  
de la noche anterior a la batalla
nos veíamos unos a otros  
de a ratos,
sólo por la luz azul de los relámpagos.
