Charlotte Corday

who believes my shoulders
can be held—

or a woman is encoded & then memorised?
no player saves.

the screen won’t always show what you ask
just bc you asked.

in fact, a syrup pours up from my neck as you cut it:
I too can kill a man.
I blush when you smack me.

watch these hands, one to either hip,
swiping a red finger in the sand
to make a eunuch;

getting the moon to turn w/ a knife
so the sun can be crowned in darkness.

Charlotte Corday: (1768-1793) French Girondist assassin of Jean-Paul Marat.
